It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station.
