The different languages spoken in the film help show the audience the situation in the film is a worldwide event, not just one nation. IN Close Encounters with the Third Kind, the humans and aliens communicate through sign language and by using lights and sound. The way the humans and aliens communicate in the film helps to establish a relationship between the two races, informing the audience the two races are civil towards one another. The sign language used between aliens and humans can also be a form of body language, not just a regular language such as English and French.…
