    New Mexico Military Institute, home of the Broncos and the little Colts, carries a tradition in which every student becomes a cadet in the Corps of Cadets. It holds some of the finest programs that can be taught such as Astronomy, Physics, Math, English, Choir, and Science. One course, in particular, is the Early Commissioning Program (ECP) of the SROTC department. There is even a tradition known as "RAT Week" in which newcomers must go through known as RAT Week. The ECP is independent aside from the Corps of Cadets in which it has its own squadron known as the "Garry Owen Squadron" and Cadre to learn from. With this given fact, cadets in both the Corps and ECP tend to have a struggle at times when there are activities for both. I happen to be one of those cadets. Although my priority is the ECP program, I still have obligations to fulfill in the Corps of Cadets. I am a different person in the ROTC and the Corps of Cadets. I tend to be more serious when it comes to the ROTC and a little loose at the Corps. ROTC is my career so I have to be active and alive. Even Brigadier General Combs defined the caliber of officers of the Army looks for. She also stated that "the Army wants adaptive and critical thinkers." Consequently, the purpose and goal of the ROTC is to prepare those future leaders by training them throughout their college career so it plays off of each other.
