Comedian Kevin Yee I have always been a big comedy fan. I love laughing and love it when people make me laugh. I have always been told that I am always smiling for no reason, so when I heard that a comedian was going to perform I knew I couldn’t miss it. On Tuesday night at George’s, comedian Kevin Yee performed, however I have never seen a comedian performance that was mainly based on songs. He did talk but mostly performed songs throughout the show. There was about a medium size crowd that day that showed up to watch the show. Kevin Yee was a funny person who really engaged with the crowd and also didn’t hold anything back when he performed. The first song he sang was about him being Homosexual. The fact that he was homosexual was not shocking, but what was shocking was the song. That song was explicit and descriptive that it was shockingly funny. All of Kevin Yee’s songs were funny that I can’t even choose which one is my favorite. Aside from his songs, he also talked about him being gay and Asian. He said that whenever he “came out of the closet” to his parents at eighteen years old, that his mom was really supportive of him. Then joked around and said that he wished that she wasn’t so supportive so he could go through the pain of being rejected and disowned by his parents. Yee also talked a…

The wealthy have always profited off the rich. As Chris Rock put it, “Shaq is rich, the white man that signs his check is wealthy(Very Funny Chris Rock About Wealth).” By coincidence, this also happens to countries that can be wealthy, but are forced to be in poverty. The way wealth is measured in countries is by the death and birth rate. It is called the demographic transition model and it has 5 stages (Rowntree, Lester 24). The First stage is preindustrial which has high birth rates and high…

Throughout history, the human species have not always been able to read or write. One thing humans have always understood are pictures. The cavemen painted on walls in order to document and tell the stories of their lives. In the more modern era, books, especially for children, are filled with pictures in order to help convey the ideas of the writer to all who read his books. This idea of pictures to help support book is shown very well in Chris Hedges and Joe Sacco’s book Days of Destruction…

Chris Crutcher argues in his article, “How They Do It”, that school systems should not become easily persuaded by the parents’ complaints to censor books that should be a part of the curriculum that their children benefit from due to the fact that the students can relate, learn, and build off of the books that are censored. Crutcher builds his argument throughout his article by including the use of personal anecdotes, pathos, and repetition. Due to the fact that Crutcher includes the use of…
