    Mei Changu Book Report

    • 1427 Words
    • 6 Pages

His room on Lang Ya Mountain remained dimly lit and sparsely decorated. Mei Changsu did not know how long he was going to stay on the mountain, but for now, the mountain was the safest place he could stay in. Mei Changsu sat on cushion on the ground, his mind flitting from topic to topic too quickly for him to concentrate on the medicine book in his hands. According to the public news that reached the Liang empire, Prince Jing was responsible for causing an internal conflict between Xia Jiang and the rest of the Hua court - pressuring Xia Jiang to rebel and ultimately allowing North Qi to join efforts with Liang to defeat the split Hua kingdom. In accordance to the same news, Prince Jing was then sentenced to execution by five horses and the man instead burned himself to death. The doors to his room opened, causing his body to jerk in surprise. "Chieftain," greeted Li Gang, kneeling at the same time. "You returned," said Mei Changsu. He pretended to calmly look up from his book and finally realized that he'd been holding his book upside down the whole time. Discretely, he closed the book, pretended to cough and turned it around under the fall of his sleeve. His hands trembled and he dropped the book. "I contacted our men in the Liang court," said Li Gang. Mei Changsu watched him rise and came over to pick up the book. "To spread rumors that the man held in prison is not the real King of Hua." "Good," said Mei Changsu, clenching his sleeves to stay grounded and focused on…

It was interactive, the teacher asked questions like "what do you think Americans felt when.. Was it good?". The took a quiz after and I read the questions to E. I graded that quiz afterwards. It was a very easy quiz - reading information from a timeline. During reading I saw for the first time reading groups. They were made based on the reading level. First group included Emmanuel, Naim, Drake, and Zachary. They read a simpler books and needed a lot of scaffolding during reading. I liked how…

    • 4 Pages

I started reading in preschool because I was fond of the pictures and I really enjoyed listening to my teacher read out loud as we followed along in the book. In the first grade, my class would always begin by copying the notes written on the chalkboard. My classmates and I would sit in front of the chalkboard and just write in our notebooks word for word on what was the board. I was very curious about what the purpose of it when I couldn’t even understand it. My hand would eventually hurt from…

While reading “The Osage Firebird,” I saw how the structure of the text, led to one another. Meaning, when the author, Sudipta Bardhan, wrote this passage she made it connect really well to each other. While reading the passage, I observed how she did it. She did it by adding one detail in one section, then that one detail becomes the main idea for the next section, or for any section. I saw the connection of each section near the end, since in the beginning of the passage, I didn’t see any. …

Even though Poe’s death remains a mystery today it is fact that “The Fall of the House of Usher” has been, throughout time, a reader’s favorite story, both casual and school forced. I personally think it has been such a famous and favorite book of readers because the short story is very dark, cruel, creepy and mysterious. Since it is so dark and mysterious it constantly keeps the attention of the readers such as college students like myself. If the story doesn’t keep my attention then I really…

are they guaranteed that these things won’t ever happen to them? Children must be taught right from wrong, so that we can make good choices in our own life. Stories and characters help us learn about these things that we sometimes know nothing about. I don’t think the book, ‘’Bridge to Terabithia’’, should be banned just because it shares a story that deals with real situations that might be difficult for children to process, such as offensive language, witchcraft, and death. Many people…
