On Wednesday, 9/7/16, UNCW held its ‘Concert on the Commons Series. I had the opportunity to enjoy this event during my lunch break between classes at the fisher center. The ‘Naughty Feats’ were preforming down at the amphitheater. During most of the concerts they sung covers and towards the middle of the concert they began to show some of their original works. They were pretty enjoyable. I am not certain if they were a well know small local band or if they were just a student band that formed…

One day I had the sudden urge to go workout on the treadmill, so I hopped in my car and drove over to the Bexley Creekside Apartment gym. I walked in and noticed Jamaal training a client. I had a few fitness goals I wanted to achieve so I decided to ask for his business card. Little did I know that one action would change my life forever. Jamaal and I started training a few days later. At first I was a little shy and strictly focused on the training. After a couple of sessions, Jamaal finally…
A driverless car is an automated vehicle. It is a robotic vehicle that is designed to travel without a human driver. The “driver” sets a destination. The car’s software calculates a route and the car begins driving. Artificial intelligence software in the car is connected to all sensors and has input from Google Street View and video cameras inside the car. The software also has decision-making processes and controls the actions in driver-control systems such as steering and brakes. The car’s…

Bright Water School Lock-In Many of the students who attend the school dances we hold are overjoyed to hear that it 's possible there will be more dances held this year, and we entertained the idea of having seasonal dances. When I brought this idea up to my teacher, I was informed that the dances are, to my dismay, quite hard to put together. When Miss Kerr heard that the idea of dances and socializing with other class was important to the students, she presented the idea of a "Lock-in." I, and…
Scaffolding The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) illustrates what the learner can perform with and without the teacher’s help. The teaching framework that aids the learner’s transition from conceptual application with help to application without help is scaffolding (Vygotsky, 1978). Likewise, Basu, Sengupta, and Biswas (2014) describe inquiry learning as an agent of scaffolding. As the level of subject difficulty rises, it becomes more important for teachers to identify the collective…
