Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a talented and successful architect and designer in the 19th and 20th century who worked in Glasgow and is best known for several remaining creations within the city. Recognized as the father of “Glasgow Style” which created and inspired a new approach to architecture. Born in 1868 on June 7th, Charles Mackintosh studied art and design where he was interested in drawing programmes at the Glasgow School of Art as well as trained as an architecture under John Hutchinson, before transferring to the practise of Honeyman and Keppie.
