    had to explain that it did not mean aunt in Spanish, nor was it spelled like the warm drink. Constantly having to explain my name has made me hate me it. While not everyone appreciates their name, researching and learning more about the origin of my name gave me the understanding to hate mine a little less. My dad always told me he never wanted to name his kid's usual names, and when I said I hated my name, he told me for a half an hour how great it was to have a unique name. However, my dad didn’t always want my name to be Tia, and my mom definitely did not. Polka music, and swing, and brass bands were always playing in my mom’s childhood home.
