The handy helper I choose was a video from Khan Academy. This video was about the Cartesian Coordinate System. I naturally gravitated to the Khan Academy link because I was already accustomed to the website while using it to get spun back up before this class. The Kahn Academy site contains similar math videos and you learn from watching their videos and practicing math problems that relate to the video. This particular video consists of a guy explaining math while at the same time visually demonstrating it. This video breaks down the basic parts of the graph such as the x and y axis and then shows where the negative and positive parts are. It then goes on to show how to read coordinates and graph the points. The video was pretty simple…

methods are simple and elegant for Lambertian diffuse models. In this project report a methodology for a similar 3D reconstruction has been proposed which is less expensive and less mathematically complicated. 2.1 Problem Definition The realistic view of an object cannot be seen in a 2d image because its depth information cannot be recorded. The objective of this report is to create a 3D view of an object from two or more images for better understanding. The work here describes an efficient…

Question 2: Map scale is the ratio of the straight line distance between any two points on a map to the straight line distance between the same two points on the earth’s surface. Now when looking at map scale there a few concepts for instance, ratio (representational fraction) scale is a concept of map scale. Ratio scale is always neutral in the scale measurement used on the map. So when looking at a map scale of 1:50 000 it means that 1 unit of measurement on the map is equal to 50 000 of the…

Doubtful Dreams As any other philosopher, Rene Descartes was driven by the need to find the undeniable truth. He was very upset when he realized as a young man that many of the things he was taught in school was scarcely supported by evidence, if not out right false (Pojman & Vaughn, 2011, p.487). Therefore, when he began his foray into philosophy, he decided would deny and ignore all previously accepted opinions and build an entirely new foundation of truth to build on (Tweyman, 2013,…

This addition of layers improves the structural integrity of the clock, making it seem less fragile when comparing it to the previous designs. This clock has the gears/cogs, copper colour, contraptions, and fuel element criterion. The assembly of gears, either visible or partly hidden, make the clock aesthetically pleasing. The arrangement of the gears and cogs can be interpreted as a solar system as they are positioned in a way that remind me of orbiting planets. Additionally, the gears are a…

The definition of development given by the Webster’s Encyclopedia of Dictionaries is, “To unfold gradually . . . to evolve by natural processes . . .” (Allee, 1958, p. 105) neither of these definitions give a time frame for development to begin and end; hence it is reasonable to conclude that development is lifelong. This is the backbone of the life-span perspective. There are six elements that comprise the life-span perspective which are: development is lifelong, development is…

In three space we have planes, if we look on the graph the point R is on the plane yz, the point S is on the plane xz, and the point Q is on the xy plane. In three dimension we can find the equation of each plane by setting one of the coordinate equal to zero. If we want to find the equation of the plane xy we must set z equal to zero, if we want to find the equation of the xz plane we must set y equal to zero, and if we want the equation of the yz plane we must set x equal zero. After finding…

scheme in which figures were sized and drawn according to their relative status in society. In Chinese painting, perspective was not of much concern until the era of Qing Dynasty art. However, during the Renaissance, painters needed to find a way to translate the three-dimensional world around them onto the two-dimensional surface of a painting, called the "picture plane." Their solution? Linear perspective; the idea that converging lines meet at a single vanishing point and all shapes get…

The web, telecommunication network, biological networks, and social networks are examples of systems mod- eled naturally as networks, where nodes in the network represent entities and edges represent relationships between pairs of entities. The identification of com- munities hidden within the structure of these networks is an important task for a wide set of fields such as sociology, physics, and biology [1]. A network is said to have community structure if nodes of the…
