are dark. The rings are probably composed of very small grains of rocky material. Unlike Saturn’s rings, they seem to contain no ice. Particles in Jupiter's ring probably don’t stay there for long. Rings get resupplied by dust formed by micro \meteor on the 4 inner moons, which are very energetic because of Jupiter’s large gravitational field. Jupiter has 67 known satellites (a celestial body orbiting the earth or another planet). Jupiter has 4 large galilean moons plus many more smaller ones which some have not been named. Jupiter is gradually slowing down due to the tidal drag produced by the 4 galilean satellites. Lo , Europa and Ganymede are locked together in a 1:2:4 orbital resonance and their orbits evolve together. In a few years Callisto will be orbiting at exactly twice the period of Ganymede (8 times the period of Lo). Jupiter also has a red spot! It is a giant like hurricane storm that sat there for over 300 years. When the red spot is at its widest it has a 3 times the diameter of Earth. The Edges of the red spot Spin counter clockwise at about 225 miles per hour(360 kilometers per hour). The color of the storm is either brick red or slightly brown. The colors probably come from tiny amounts of sulfur and phosphorus in the ammonia crystals in Jupiter's clouds. The Red Spot contracts and dilate over time. II. The four Galilean Moons . Lo- moon. Lo is about 4.5 billion years old-same as Jupiter. Lo is the fifth moon from Jupiter. Lo is slightly larger than Earth’s…

NEXT provide same amount of energy with 860 kg of xenon propellant compare to 10,000 kg propellant in old technology and have five and a half years life time. To save food, water, energy, and space for long distance space travel, all crew members are in a state of deep sleep with very low metabolic rate. Space craft will wake up them when it is ready to enter the orbit of Europa. Space craft will use gravity of Jupiter and moon’s…

Callisto is the outer most moon of the four Galilean moons (The Galilean). The moon has a diameter of 4806km. It is also the third largest moon in out solar system and the second largest moon in the Jovian system, only after Ganymede. Callisto is the most heavily cratered object in the solar system. It is thought to be a long dead world, with hardly any geologic activity on its surface. It also has a very icy surface dating back to almost 4 billion years old (Colorado.Edu). With a surface age of…

Feminine features The painting Jupiter and Callisto by Angelica Kauffmann (1781), oil on canvas with a 24 inches diameter is a painting in the late 19th century. As soon as our eyes set into the painting, two female figures in the foreground captured our attention. One of them is Jupiter in the disguise of Dianna, while the other female is Callisto. Artemis and Callisto are portrayed as lovers, Zeus disguises himself as Artemis so as to lure Callisto to his embrace. Sexual relationships were also evident in the mid-19th century among women. "Of Mortal Children and Immortal Lusts", of Ovid's Metamorphoses we see the story of Jove and Callisto, a story in which Callisto is raped by Jove yet Callisto is seemingly blamed for the said occurrence. But, despite his steady attempt to keep it at bay, the death of the bird signals the end of his equilibrium. ‘“I held him,” he protested, impotent with the wonder of it, “to give him the warmth of my body. Almost as if I were communicating life to him, or a sense of life. What has happened? Has the transfer of heat ceased to work? Is there no more…”’. Despite his knowledge of science and the way things are supposed to work, Callisto has failed. As Callisto resolves into a state of fear, Aubade…

of high-mating-effort-rapists. “These rapists may be characterized as aggressive, dominant, and having a high-self esteem” (McKibbin 7). In the story of Callisto, for example, Zeus portrays all of the characteristics of high-mating-effort-rapists. Zeus had spotted the virgin Callisto resting naked in a forest and decided that he would sexually assault her. He would do so by taking on the form of the goddess Diana, the goddess that favored Callisto most (Ovid 67-68). After approaching her…

In “Actaeon”, the young hunter Actaeon suffers a cruel, unfair fate because of Diana’s impulsive and unjust use of her powers. In Tales from Ovid, by Ted Hughes, Ovid conveys that when people abuse their power it victimizes others and as a result hurts innocent people because people with power are void of compassion. In one of the myths that support Ovid’s purpose, “Callisto and Arcas,” Jove abuses his power to forcefully take advantage of Callisto, and leaves her deeply disturbed, pregnant, and…
