    want the students working together and communicating with each other. By working in pods, students are able to work together and “bounce” ideas off of one another. These pods also provide more room in the classroom and clear pathways for students during transitions or different activities. There is a library full of books, pillows, bean bags, and a rocking chair for students to feel comfortable when reading or working in groups. I also have two tables for small group work in the front and back of the room. The room is full of bright colors, posters, and bulletin boards. The students always like helping me decorate so during free time, I let students create pictures or help with the bulletin boards to feel they had some part in decorating the room. One of the bulletin boards involves our “I can” statements. These statements help students know what their main objectives are in the different subject areas. Another bulletin board views different student work and their achievements. By posting this work, it gives the students a sense of encouragement in their work. Rules for the classroom: Give respect to earn respect- I feel this is important because you must be kind to others for them to be kind to you. Helps with the community of the classroom and lets students feel safe within the classroom. Listen to one another- Listening ears when others are talking. I feel this means that voices are off and eyes on the speaker when they are talking. This will help with the classroom…
