James Baldwin was an african american novelist and a social critic for the public. He was influenced by many such as Malcolm X, Miles Davis, and Richard Wright. He was born on August 2, 1924 in Harlem, New York, and he died on December 1, 1987 in Saint-Paul de Vence, France.
