Casey and Abby eventually say their good nights and head home, Bryna heads up to her old room to go to sleep. I was not ready for bed and was still sipping on some coffee I had made. After tonight, I needed to feel a little bit more of Jack with me so I brewed a small pot, and grabbed Jacks favorite red coffee cup from the shelf. I poured a seconds glass for Flynn and we move our conversation to the front porch. “You don’t have to stay. I’m sure you are tired.” I say taking a seat “No, I’m fine... I think I am still coming off the adrenaline of the day.” “Flynn, you did an amazing job. Jack would be truly proud of everything you were able to pull off today.” “I can’t take any of the credit, it was all his idea. He would go on and on about every little detail he could think of and wrote it all down in his ‘anniversary journal’ he kept at the office.” He replies smirking I could tell he was reliving some of the conversations he had shared with Jack, as his smirk turned into a large smile and then a small chuckle. “I can’t tell you how much this means to me, but I can’t ask you to foot the bill for Jack’s master plan. Tell me the amount and I will write you a check.” I offer “Ha, let me think about that. Ah No. I don’t think so. And even if it was my money I used I wouldn’t have let you pay me back.” Flynn laughs “I don’t understand, whose money did you use?” “Jack’s, he had been saving for this for years, doing odd jobs for extra cash in the beginning and then having payroll…

Whether the movie "Concussion" makes a bunch of money from people passionate about safety and youth sports, or people who couldn't get into the new "Star Wars" because it was sold out, then couldn't get into "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip" because it also was sold out* and figured, what the heck, we're at the theater anyway, is irrelevant regarding the issue of head injuries and…

A trip to live in Ecuador for a year with my family did not only lead to a cultural revolution in my life but gave me opportunities to give back to a different community. On top of going to a completely immersive school, I spent afternoons and some weekends teaching English to Ecuadorian children. In turn, I was able to get a pretty good grasp on Spanish, allowing me to better teach the kids and learn about the area I lived in. Spanish did not only help me in Ecuador but also more recently in…

I have always loved to travel. I love to just see the world and experience different cultures, but there was one place in specific that I really, really wanted to go to. That place was Samara, Costa Rica. I had been begging my parents to take me there for around a year or even a little longer. We knew some people who had lived there for a while and they just got me hooked on that one little town. I mentioned it every single day. I would even send them links to houses for us to stay in and…
