He then decides if his writing needs to be revised or if he should just “ cross the whole thing out”(Watterson).…

Writing a persuasive essay can be done in various ways. In Libby Hill’s essay “Calvin and Hobbes: The Voice of the Lonely Child”, she uses methods such as emotional appeal and testimony to connect to her readers. In Melissa Rubin’s essay, “Advertisements R Us”, she uses a very different approach as to how she persuades her reader. Rubin concentrates on logical appeal and historical facts to prove her claims. Both of these essays present reasonable arguments in different techniques as to what…

The student government body is similar to that of the House of Representatives. Each person on the governing body gets to express their view points. Also like the House of Representatives, the student legislative body is overseen by an assembly or legislative chair. The legislative chair is responsible for setting an agenda to be discussed each week at the general body meetings. On the agenda, bills are up for vote and discussion. Usually, a member of the legislative body will propose a bill to…

“California equal pay bill may be toughest in nation” (Masunaga 2015). This article was written by Samantha Masunaga and published in the Los Angeles Times. The Los Angeles Times has been in circulation for more than 130 years and has won over 40 Pulitzer prizes. The paper has been accused of having a liberal bias, but I do not feel that it has any bearing on this particular story. Samantha Masunaga attended UC Berkley Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to joining the staff at the Los Angeles…

Of course, Jack and Bill also have more investigations to do thanks to some information that has come to light regarding Mr. Gowen. I simply adore the pairing of these two--kind of like the dynamic duo of the Old West. One has to go by the books, and the other can be a little more creative in his interpretation of the law. Together, they are invincible as they solve whatever crime or perceived crime comes their way. As Bill, Jack is handsome, rugged and certainly committed to justice at any…

from someone who may be too far removed from the middle class way of life and its worries or someone whose suggestions are idealized snippets with little practical value. So, what to do when the refund arrives: Pay those Pesky Bills Most of us have them and if you don't, well then, you're already one step ahead, but many of us have at least one pesky bill. I spent it. Next week another paycheck, I spent that too. My phone bill hasn’t been paid in over 3 months due to no money. And I was having family problems. My car was my get away for all of this. I would go for random rides listening to music, contemplating. Until the recent accident.
