Beyoncé: More Than an Entertainer Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, known to the general public as Beyoncé, was born to Tina Knowles (mother) and Matthew Knowles (father) on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas. She is identified by her career in the music industry, but there is more than what meets the eye. Knowles is also an accomplished entrepreneur, or a person who owns, operates, and takes the risk of a business venture. In only thirty-two years, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has accomplished so many things, from music to business, she has made history. To begin her journey into the business world, Knowles focused on her singing career.
