Bayonetta is a popular third-person action video game produced for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U. It has sold more than 1.35 million copies worldwide since its original release in 2010, and a sequel to the game was recently released this year ("Bayonetta"). The game centers around its title character, Bayonetta, a sexy witch who fights off enemies with her high-heel revolvers and uses her magical hair to summon demons. Though the Bayonetta franchise has been generally well received by the gaming community, there exists a controversy surrounding Bayonetta's character design and representation. While many people believe that the explicit sexual themes involving Bayonetta's design exist for the pleasure of the male audience, others consider them to be an expression of the character's agency. It is definitely not a secret that Bayonetta's design is highly sexualized. Her tight black outfit is composed entirely of her magical hair, which almost completely disappears whenever she uses it to summon demons. In an interview with Hideki Kamiya, the creator of the game, he explicitly states that Bayonetta is actually naked, and that she uses her magical strength to form her hair into an outfit. Kamiya explained that when her magic power becomes weak or depleted, she would unintentionally reveal her naked body to the player ("Bayonetta and the Male Gaze"). In addition to this, Bayonetta exhibits an exaggerated hourglass figure; her movements and combat style, as well as the…

I took the bus around the Los Angeles area on a Saturday. The bus I used was the 30/330 that goes from Sunset Boulevard into East Los Angeles. This was mostly what seemed to be residential areas and the main streets of Los Angeles. While riding the bus I saw the difference within the people through the surrounding buildings. The visible wealth disparity between the residents of Los Angeles is very stark and can be seen within neighborhoods. Starting at Sunset, near the Greystone Mansion, the…

Chris and I. We decided to keep quiet and wait. The officer told them to line up on the back of the car to push. Then he told them he was going back to the squad car for a chain to help pull them out. Sam whispered to the other guys “What does that stupid cop think we’ve been doing all this time”. Joe answered with “I have mud up to my knees and I can’t push anymore”. From their voices I gathered that Sam was on the left of the car and Joe on the right. Eddie told us to hang…

I’m walking down the street, and it’s eleven o'clock at night. And, while i’m walking some kid tried to snatch my purse. So, I did what anyone else would and get my stuff back. I look at the kid and he looked like a mid 14 or 15 year old boy. He looks like he takes care of himself, or like his parents left him. He looks like he knows better, so I put him in a half-nelson. That ought to put him in check. Then after I took care of the things I needed to take care of,I dragged him by his ear and…
