    March 24- He spent his time in prayer. On March 25th 1522- He lived as a beggar. While a beggar he ate and drank sparingly. He scourged himself and for a while he did not combe or even trimmed his hair. Daily he attended mass and spent seven hours in prayer and he often did this in a cave outside Manresa.At Manresa, he sketched the fundamentals of his little book The Spiritual Exercises.
