Meanwhile the second sociological concept seen on Mtv reality show, The Hills is the conflict theory which sets a social control of mechanisms that creates the normativity compliance between cast members by breaking rules that aren’t meant to be broken. For example, Mtv reality show, The Hills broken rule is “Girl Code” as it’s meant for not to date they’re friends ex-boyfriends nor girlfriends. As from a scene from The Hills, where Conrad is telling a mutual friend of hers how her former roommate, Audrina Patridge has accused Conrad for hooking up with her on and off again boyfriend, Justin Bobby. In contrast with the accusation Conrad doesn’t understand why Patridge has accused of such thing simply because Justin Bobby isn’t Conrad type of guy and would never become involved with Patridge’s ex-boyfriend ever. Therefore, this demonstrates the social theory of conflicts as it’s affecting the way they’re living their lives as many people are seeing others breaking the rule of “Girl Code” and making them feel as if they aren’t susceptible as following those rules in being able to maintain their friendships alive rather than breaking them such as “Girl Code” which has portrayed a role in Mtv reality show, The Hills that can lead into bad circumstances and conflicts that can even lead to breaking up friendships.
