By the end of 2017 Faye had been at SportsEngine for only 4 months, so this review is abbreviated. Faye was hired to help balance out a team having more junior developers than mid-level to senior developers. She is a stronger backend developer than frontend, and is comfortable in the Rails development stack. She has mainly worked on the Mass Rostering for the League Teams project, which included: printable rosters and contacts sheets, orphaned persona with User Service roles, and limiting the rows returned based on an entry number for a Relational Registration User Filter; she also contributed on some small items for Club Teams in Sitebuilder. All of the Mass Rostering items were in challenging and complex parts of the system. Faye approached them head-on and drove them to completion. I always push backend developers to be able to develop frontend components, especially the more experienced developers. Much of what I had Faye work on when she started was in Angular development and this was an area she had much less experience with than Rails. Most of her time was spent on Mass Rostering, specifically printing contacts and a team roster from TeamCenter. This was a very new and stretching area for Faye. She struggled some, but worked well with Scott Trenda to solve the need. Printing is not an easy problem to solve and Trenda shared the challenges he had when this was done a number of years ago in Tourney - it has not become any easier. I appreciated Faye's approach to learn…

He states that the basic branches utilized by the British Regular Army in America were the infantry, cavalry, and artillery. All these were separate battalions, unlike the Queen’s Rangers who had all three of these basic army branches in one corps. These branches made up the basics of all armies during the eighteenth century and the fact that the Queens Rangers had all three made them extremely effective from a command standpoint. This meant it was harder for commanders in regular units to…

The Army Counterintelligence field first began in 1942 as the Army Counter Intelligence Corps. Army CI has undergone many changes in the last 74 years since then. Some of the time, changes were made with the intention of furthering the successes of Army CI. Other times, changes were made to prevent shortfalls that were identified through previous failures. All in all, there are many things right with the Army CI and there are many things wrong. My intention is to identify one of the…

quite the objective for which she was searching. Since the work was monotonous and unfulfilling, she was inspired to join the Peace Corps. There, she found laborious tasks and stressful situations, but she also served the world more in two years than many do in their entire life. Yilan was, in a sense, the essence of a volunteer. She found her purpose in helping others through the Peace Corps, a venerable organization that has served to greatly improve the lives of people outside of the United…

noticed in Still I Rise, is that she reminded me of myself. She seems like a strong woman that does not let anything come in her way. Since she shows a strong personality about herself you could say she is extremely empowering from that. For example, in the poem she says in her first couple lines “You may write me down in history / With your bitter, twisted lies, /You may trod me in the very dirt /But still, like dust, I’ll rise.” She did not build up to that moment she stated it the poem off…

friends were there. I fit right in and I felt comfortable because I knew many students. I only remained at Lake Clifton for two years because that high school was closed down by the Board of Education; the buildings were very old. After this happened, my mother discussed Job Corps and my older brother Tyquan told me about his positive Job Corps experience. Months later my mother enrolled me in Woodland Job Corps to complete my education and become more disciplined. I was able to choose which…

Unlike the low casualty rate at Vimy, the Battle of Passchendaele led to sacrifices that were not met with any gain; in addition the battle’s senseless nature also disappointed the entire country. British forces insisted Canadian Corps take Passchendaele Ridge in late 1917, and although battleground conditions were dangerous, Britain felt little to no concern, and demanded Canada act immediately. Canada defied expectation and took the low ridge within two weeks of hard fighting, but all ground…
