I chose New Regency Productions, a subsidiary of Regency Enterprises, as the production of 1996. I chose this company for a number of reasons. The first being that New Regency has produced a number of David Fincher films including, Fight Club and Gone Girl. Because of the relationship Fincher and Regency have, it would be easier to get the company on board if Fincher is attached to the project – this concept could work in reverse as well. The second reason is that New Regency has a history of taking on projects that aren’t necessarily standard Hollywood fair and are of a riskier nature. Lastly, this decision is in large part due to Anon Milchan, the producer and founder of New Regency. He is a man with vision, and a man that will go out of his way to produce a film he feels is good; this has led him to Oscar success as well, as he produced The Revenant and 12 Years a Slave among a horde of other well-reviewed films. This is a rather simple and straight forward answer. Since New Regency has a 20-year distribution pact with 20th Century Fox, the film would obviously be distributed by them.
