    A Day That Made a Difference: Meeting the Senator The day that I met Senator Rick Santorum was a day that made a difference to me. Meeting Rick Santorum made a difference to me because I was shown traits that are essential for leadership. On March 3, 2016, I was at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. I was there to hear conservative speakers and leaders from throughout the country. I sat in the front row of the auditorium at the Gaylord National Convention Center and listened to the foremost leaders of the conservative movement speak. I heard Governor Scott Walker, Governor Gary Johnson, Ambassador John Bolton, Speaker Paul Ryan, and Wayne LaPierre, the president of the National Rifle Association of America, just to name a few. Being an attendee of the conference, I was invited to various “Meet and Greet” events throughout the week. I heard that at 11:00am Senator Ben Sasse would be conducting one of the “Meet and Greets”. I had not actually ever heard of Senator Sasse until that day, but I decided to go and try to meet him, because I thought “it is not every day that you get to meet a Senator.” Warren 2 As I walked to the room where the event was to be held, I noticed that very few people were there.
