    The Cave of Forgotten Dreams is one of the oldest caves of all time. In fact, it is determined that the cave existed for about 30,000-33,000 years (Herzog, 2010). In 1994, a small group of French scientist lead by Jean-Marie Chauvet discovered the cave, and when the French government realized how precious it was, they shut off the access to it (Herzog, 2010). However, Werner Herzog a documentary filmmaker got permission to access the cave. He believed that the Chauvet Cave contains most of the oldest human art ever discovered, so he gathered a group of researchers and they started their journey trying to understand what happened there in over 32,000 years ago. When researchers arrived to the Chauvet Cave, they realized that it is narrow and can hardly fit one person at a time and by studying the cave’s dimensions they found that it is about 1300 feet long (Herzog, 2010). The researchers discovered in their journey a very large number of paintings, including different kinds of animals and figures. One of their marvelous discoveries is the panel of red dots; it is a group of dots placed in a wall representing a big mammoth (Herzog, 2010). By looking at the dots equal sizes, researchers determined that they were all made by only one person’s right-hand palm who seemed to have a crooked finger (Herzog, 2010).
