energy source and an abundance of biologically important elements. It is believed that hydrothermal vents during Archean Earth are nearly identical to modern hydrothermal vents (Baross and Hoffman, 1985). As a result, hydrothermal vents would be able to provide a continuous energy source to the first cells, protocells because modern hydrothermal vents are able to generate a continuous source of energy. In addition, it is believed that hydrothermal vents are able to facilitate precursors of organic material into organic material, while also retaining a pH levels that would allow protocells to emerge and evolve (Baross and Hoffman, 1985). This theory also is able to explain the short geologic time gap between the formation of oceans and the emergence of life because hydrothermal vents are found inside the oceans; if this theory is true, life did not emerge at least until hydrothermal formed, which requires an ocean; this would help explain the short time gap. Hence, this theory is a promising and compelling because it is able to solve a majority of the prerequisites, but it did not resolve all of…

Curiosity killed the cat. Curiosity killed humanity. Everyone knows that first saying. It’s very true in all places of life, starting all the way at the beginning of life when the first Archeans started to rap thin layers of sediment with their sticky filaments, and continuing on until all of present and future life cease to exist. It’s just the nature of living beings. There will always be more to know and learn and we will always want to know and learn more than that. Human beings continually…

ties his body to a horse chariot and drags his body through the town. It states in “The Iliad”, “Behind both fat he pierced the tendons, heel to ankle. Rawhide cords he drew through both and lashed them to his chariot, letting the mans head trail” (82). I think Achilles feeling towards his friend Patroclus, did justify the way he treated Hector. The epic heroes Achilles and Beowulf are both great warriors when it comes to fighting and war. Beowulf realized the dangers of war and his work but…

Let us tell the story of Achilles and Agamemnon, of their rage and of their rivalry, of their stubbornness and weakness. We shall begin when Chryses approached Archean residence to ask for the return of his daughter, bringing along with him a handsome ransom. To be so brave must mean that Chryses is a very loyal father, as parents should be. Agamemnon, Chryseis’ captor, refused very bluntly, in his stubborn way, feeling that giving in to this priest’s request would make him seem weak- that…

A being who always needs it to be their own way or another is basically just showing how greedy they are. For example, in the beginning of the book, Achilles had decided to take action since Agamemnon would not. He called for an assembly of troops and upset the orders by doing this, he then attempted to withdrawal himself and the other troops from the Archean army (Homer, Book 1). He did this his own way, not by any orders from the commanders or anybody else, he decided he would take his own…
