The coliseum was a great achievement in Roman history. The coliseum was made in 70 A.D. and was opened in 80 A.D. To make it they used limestone and tuff for the building, but inside was tile. It was used for entertainment and torture. The colosseum could hold up to 50,000 - 80,000 people. The building overall was 6 acres long and 150 ft tall. There was over 80 entrances and exits.
