In both works, the police force is investigating multiple deaths. In the beginning of Stiletto, the police are called scene, in which one man’s throat is cut, and the other man has been gutted. The latter of the two survives. The police then follow up on a string of murders, which we know to have been committed by Raina, on her journey for justice. Detective Hanover in Stiletto doesn’t believe that the murderer is a woman, because of the amount of strength she would have had to exert in order to slice the man’s throat.
