    “The ancient astronaut theory all started in 1968, when Swiss researcher and author Erich Von Daniken published a book known as Chariots of the Gods, which became an immediate bestseller.” Within the book he put his hypothesis that, “‘the technology and religions of many ancient civilizations were given to them by ancient astronauts who were welcomed as gods” (Ancient Astronaut Theory).
