any kind. It is also a common topic for artist to sing songs about. They can sing about being betrayed by a friend or a significant other, and it can even go as far as feeling betrayed by the entire world. The song that I chose for this assignment is “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse. In this song Winehouse talks about how her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil and how he betrayed her by leaving her and going back to his ex-girlfriend. Amy Winehouse, a depressed alcoholic, met Blake Fielder-Civil, an addict to several hard drugs, in 2005. When they met Blake Fielder-Civil was already in a relationship. They immediately felt a connection though, so Fielder-Civil left his girlfriend for Winehouse. They were head over heels for each other. Only a couple of months after meeting Field-Civil, Winehouse got a tattoo on her chest that said “Blake’s”. They had an on and off relationship and at one point Fielder-Civil left Winehouse and went back to his ex-girlfriend. That is what inspired the song “Back to Black”. They eventually got back together thought and got married in 2007. The relationship wasn’t good for either of them though. Fielder-…

What does Thomas Jefferson and Amy Winehouse in common? Obviously not the winged eyeliner nor the drug addiction tendencies, yet I argue some of their most well known and popular work is almost parallel when taken out of context. Thomas Jefferson’s “Declaration of Independence,” and Amy Winehouse 's, “Tears Dry on Their Own,” show direct correlations between taking a stand so they can find their independence, and being tired of shady men in their lives playing games. Obviously there’s a huge…
Amy, Amy, Amy. Adobe Photoshop, Amy Winehouse portrait. To make this Pop art inspired artwork, I simply used a picture of Amy Winehouse and manipulated it on Adobe Photoshop to make it look similar to the Marilyn Monroe pop art by Andy Warhol. The source of my inspiration was the Pop Art movement, more specifically Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe and Campbell’s soup repetitive pop art. The reason why this movement inspired me to do my artwork is because I like it. It is very pronounced and…
