    Quinoa and barley are both grain, the two are considered the healthiest options of grains. The two grains are very useful to man-kind! They are used for multiple aspects of life, though they vary in specifics. The two are very similar, but when juxtaposed, the differences are extraordinary! The two grains origins are very interesting regarding it's history. Quinoa, pronounced “keen-wah”, originates from areas surrounding Lake Titicaca such as Peru, Columbia and Boliva! It was first used for consumption more than four thousand years ago, it was considered a staple food for the Incan diet. However, the origins of Barley is a mystery to this day. It is possible for the grass-like grain to be an Egyptian native, yet it was also discovered in China and India. Although unsure of the origin of Barley, one thing for sure was that it was a multi purposeful plant to who ever used it. Due to its long stem, the plant was often stripped of its grains and weaved into mats or house sheds. On the other hand, quinoa did not really serve another purpose other than eating. These ancient grains, compare in the fact that they differ when regarding the types of the grains produced. Quinoa and barley both have 4 or five different specific types of the grain. Quinoa offer an ivory, red, and black option. They also offer the round grain in a flake appearance or flour!
