Perseus directly borders the constellations Andromeda, Cassiopeia, and Cepheus, who all make up the Royal Family in the Sky. Perseus contains dozens of stars, some with a magnitude of 4.0 or higher. One of those stars is Mirfak, which means ‘elbow’. This yellow-white supergiant is also known as Alpha Persei or Algenib, “the side.” Mirfak is 590 light years from Earth, and has a magnitude of 4.05. The Perseus constellation contains not only stars. Three star clusters, three nebulas, and a spiral galaxy that was the site of the world’s most violent star death ever observed, the death of supernova SN 2006gy. This constellation also contains Algol. This star is the most famous eclipsing binary star. It represents the head of slain Medusa, earning it the nicknames “Demon Star” and "The Head of Satan". Medieval astronomers believed that Algol was the unluckiest star in the sky. Pluto is small. Very small. In fact, its diameter is only 1,500 miles long, about half the size of the U.S. Because of its small size, the gravity is only 0.4 m/s2, while the Earth’s gravity is 9.8 m/s2. Pluto is about 60% rock and 40% frozen nitrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, and water. The surface of the dwarf planet is covered in canyons, polar caps, ice mountains and plains, and glaciers the size of Texas. Temperatures are so cold on Pluto (up to -387 degrees Fahrenheit) that the atmosphere freezes, and then falls to the ground like snow. The reason why the temperatures are so low is because…

eventually stopped working with FORTRAN in the late 1950s and turned his focus on other elements of computer programming. In 1958 a committee of international prominent computer scientists from business and academia got together with one goal in mind: to improve FORTRAN and in turn, create a single standardized computer language. Their creation became known as the International Algebraic Language, otherwise known as Algol (Estier). This new language introduced the notion of local variables…

While many people believe that the object oriented paradigm is the best paradigm available on the internet select handfuls of the coding community are up in arms about object orientation, they have many reasons to support their claim with the most common being that it can increase complexity immensely…

These speculations are recognized by Dahl and have motivated him in designing SIMULA, the runtime structures of Algol 60 already contained the simulation mechanisms and it’s been recognized by Nygaard and Dahl that it is the runtime behavior of a simulation program that models the real world and not the program’s text. There is similar recognition of the value of dynamism in Agile software development, a methodology in which a program is developed in small increments in a close consultation with…
