    will agree that such a vital matter requires a good degree of forthrightness especially for young people. I find it difficult to believe that a young person whose mind is filled with songs that have lyrics like “it’s going to rain men today” could have a healthy love life. The simple reason for my skepticism is because matters of grave importance like love are trivialized on the platter of pleasure. I 'm being sincere here, I promise; but I believe we might not be able to give a perfect definition and a generally acceptable description of irony (insincerity) for the simple reasons that its contextual meaning varies widely and also people reason differently. For instance, Alanis Morissette’s song titled ironic has over the years generated more arguments than many songs would ever do. Some people believe that Alanis gave a good rendition of irony in the various situation described in the song, while many others believe that none of the scenario is fit for a good description of irony. This debate is just proof that people have divers views on what an irony is. In its simple description, irony is about saying the opposite of what you really mean, and that is where the issue of insincerity comes in. In an attempt to be creative, and all in the name of irony, Pop artists and mass communicators have made use of sarcasm and hyperbole in music, movies, advertisements and commercials. Unfortunately, the usage of these figures of speech in some instances has done more harm than good.…
