    Lesane Parish Crooks, we all know him as the great Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was born on June 16, 1971 in Harlem New York. He lived with his mother and his sister who was only two years younger than him. His mother, Afeni Shakur who was born as Alice Faye Williams, raised Tupac and his sister on her own. She was a member of the Black Panther Party and was arrested for causing the start of a riot, she battled with drug abuse for a long time and was always in and out of jail. Tupac probably would have been born in jail but Afeni was acquitted. They moved homes a lot and sometimes stayed in shelters.
