That’s what two kids named Nick and Martha did to save a baby panther and reunite it with it’s mother in the book Scat by Carl Hiaasen. In Scat, a teacher goes missing after a field trip to Black Vine Swamp because the swamp caught fire. Because Marta and Nick are worried, they dig into her case and end up finding her with another student and a rich explorer who are trying to reunite a baby panther with its mother.
