    This was shown from the very beginning, in Carrey’s first comedic role in Ace Ventura Pet Detective (Tom Shadyac, 1994). In the film, Carrey’s plays Ace Ventura, a detective who specialises in animals, who is on the hunt for a football team’s missing dolphin mascot (IMDb, 2014). Carrey’s brand of physical comedy is shown throughout the movie. Personally, I feel that this was best shown in the scenes when Ace goes on a hunt for the owners of the championship ring. In these scenes, Carrey was running, rolling around on the ground, arm wrestling and hiding in one of the player’s mailbox. To match Carrey’s goofy character, Ace Ventura is dressed in colourfully printed shirts, and has perfectly gelled hair that does not go out of place throughout the film, regardless of the situations he gets himself into.
