For project 2, the plan was to attend a seminar of some sort regarding estate planning. Chris Hogan, one of Dave Ramsey’s personalities, was here towards the end of March but his speaking arrangement wasn’t centered solely around estate planning and instead, was more of a “smart money” event about getting out of debt etc. After doing some research, I found several different seminars that will be taking place locally next month around the Salt Lake Valley, but since the semester will be over by then, I turned my attention to seeking one out online. It amazes me how advanced technology is and how there are so many different topics to discover online. The first thing that caught my attention was at the beginning (after changing names, ages etc.) The presenter emphasized to make sure you fully trust your executor and then laid out personal examples of how and why this is important. A young man was an executor that also had power of attorney privileges for his mother. He moved her 30 minutes out of the city and into a nursing home. During…

The purpose of the interview was to learn about Vietnam, the country where my informant was born and lived until 1975 when Saigon was invaded by the North Vietnamese. In addition, I had desired to see Vietnam from a perspective other than the Vietnam War where Americans fought. However, there is another reason I chose Vietnam, I work with students whose parents are from Vietnam even though the parents are a younger generation their culture is alive and lived out in their community.
