Our purposed public artwork location was decided on to be located in front of the Rogue Ales Gallery and Restaurant in the Bay front area of Newport, Oregon. Our artwork will be a sculpture in the round, giant beer mug that says “Oregon Micro Brews,” in moss, on the mug. The mug itself will be made out of concrete to utilize the porosity of the medium. Auden emphasizes the significance of suffering through a 15th century masterpiece “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus.” Written in 1938, Auden’s “Musee des Beaux Arts” is a representation of man’s indifference to suffering.
