8 May 22, 2016 G.P.A. Restrictions “Attention students, after continuous quarrel we have decided to add a G.P.A. restriction on sports.” Imagine a school where all students are getting good grades and succeeding. Imagine a place where everyone is treated fairly and open-mindedly. School should put a 2.0 GPA restriction toward sports because it holds many benefits. Firstly, it will give other students a chance to play. Secondly, it encourages students to be on their best behaviour and to try and…
“As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality persist in our world, none of us can truly rest.” According to Nelson Mandela, we should all be restless until everyone is equal. During the past semester, I have strived to help impoverished students receive an education equal to the education given to children in private schools. As a result, I have acquired an expansive knowledge regarding injustice and have grown as a person. For my service work this semester, I volunteered at Kellom…
education first hand, having an open and understanding perspective towards the education system, having a point of view towards how students should be taught, all of which factor into my future classroom. As a future teacher I have the experience that will enable me to be fully equipped in my own classroom. I first became interested in the teaching profession when I began working with children. Being afforded the opportunity to watch my aunt teach additionally sparked my interest. I helped in…
friendship and interpersonal relationships in Ms. Bunker’s class. The students engage in play and discussion amongst each other in an easy-going, non-hierarchal manner. Moreover, the students worked/played together without nullifying their cultural/ethnic and gender differences – but while embracing them and working well together in spite of them. I did not see any dissension based on student demographical diversification – and students mingled with each other equally. Furthermore,…

This has led to an observed greater grasp of the basic course competencies with this interaction and a greater attendance rate from my students when they are engaged through this multi-level approach. The above methodology shows promise for traditional,…
Panchito enrolled in Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI), a nonprofit that helps students become the first in their family to attend and succeed in college. BLCI teaches students that a college education not only sets one up for economic opportunities, but can provide skills to improve communities. This concept captured Panchito’s imagination as the son of a well-respected community activist.…
I decided to interview my pre-calculus professor Sarah Fritch for this response. Her first year of college was enjoyable, she initially started as a chemistry major, and in her second semester she decided that she didn’t like chemistry. She changed her major to math because liked calculus class. She was also involved with Christian ministry. I expected her to be a major of some sort of math because that’s what she teaches and it fits her personality, and I found it relieving that she changed her…
Students were able to take their thumbnails and proceed forward with their projects. I think overall they were able to explore using their final thumbnail. They were more energetic to work on their projects. I broke down the materials into groups and supplied those at different tables. This method worked extremely well in helping to not only keep myself organized but the students also. Student 1M (first day): Once he finished up his thumbnail sketches he went and grabbed some of the practice…
