Personal Essay: Personal Journey In The Red Balloon Movie
Writing has never been a favorite activity of mine, ever since I was young I found it difficult to put my thoughts down on paper. Possibly because I was always afraid of what people thought about the things I was saying. But the thing that impeded my ability to write the most was my lack of concentration, as soon as I start to write down one of my thoughts I find that my mind quickly starts wandering off to other places. I think it happens because I’m not overly fond of writing, and I’d rather be doing something else than struggling to get my ideas on paper.
For me there is a bigger issue than just having the concentration to write an essay, the issue is that for me to write a decent paper I need to have a good amount of knowledge on the subject that I’m talking about. When we had to write the essay about the Red Balloon movie, I honestly did not know what to write about. For me the movie was somewhat confusing and it was hard to find a good starting point for the essay. But for something like the Butter Battle Book I found it remarkably easy to write about, the message of the book was very clear and not hard to understand. The difficulty of the material I’m writing about also reflects how long it takes me to come up with ideas when writing about it. When I understand the topic, I can finish an essay rather quickly, but the harder ones take me a long time, and the longer it takes, the sloppier I get with my writing.
