The skills and experiences that I have gained from 4-H at many time differ from the education that I receive at school, in the classroom. Through 4-H I have gained the valuable skill of leadership. I am my 4-H club’s president. My club has 52 people in it with most of them being under the age of ten. Sometimes I regret running for president, but then at other times I feel it is a great leadership experience. The duties of a president are not only running the meetings and showing animals. Starting my Junior year in high school I was accepted onto the Illinois State 4-H Youth Leadership Team (YLT). I had wanted to join the team since attending the Junior Leadership Conference (JLC) held by the team annually, when I was a 7th and 8th grader.
