during an interview for his school paper in 1976 saying “I've had about two lessons, but they didn't help much, I think you'll always be able to do what your ear tells you” (DeGraaf, 2016). “Known for his originality and flamboyant style both on and off stage, Prince's large body of work incorporated a variety of musical styles, including funk, rock, and R&B” (Jarnow, 2016). Prince was able to play a wide variety of musical instruments, including guitars, basses, synths, bongos, congas, finger cymbals, wind instruments, orchestral bells, and woodblocks. He also wrote and sang his own musical pieces. Prince’s inspiration came from mostly the events around him, but he also found inspiration from his trips to European nightclubs. Prince’s songs “1999”, “Delirious” and “Little Red Corvette” all came from the inspiration he received while on tour in Europe in 1981. Prince helped spread the movement of black artists with his wild popularity, “When Prince hit the scene, few black artists were prominent - let alone playing rock, which was predominantly performed by white artists” (DeGraaf, 2016). Prince’s talent and hard work was not for nothing, before Prince was 50, he had won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, sold 100 million records worldwide, and won seven Grammys. Prince even played during the halftime of the Superbowl at the Dolphin Stadium in 2007. Prince played a few classics along with a number of his own songs, including “Purple Rain”, which while performing, a sudden…

When we land in Acirema, I am tired. I couldn 't sleep on the boat, something from the party didn 't add up. The guy who yelled "Is that the one they thought had both powers?" how had he known about that? I try to tell myself that the only reason he knew was because most people there were apart of the Acirema government, so maybe that 's how he knew. But another part of me feels like there 's a sign on my forehead saying "Hey look at me I 'm the freak with both gifts!" Even though I still don 't…

This is dedicated to a muse of mine. --- "Leah! What the hell are you doing?" Alec yells at me from the other side of the soccer field. "Running away from you," I tell him, sticking my tongue out at him for good measure as I kick the ball past him. "I thought we were still playing." "You know I 've got to be home and cook dinner," he says, running a hand through his sweaty dark hair. "Your mom 's working?" I ask, dribbling the ball with my feet absentmindedly. "Yeah, late. The thin metal door of Rukia's locker swung open, revealing her colorful folders and an extensive amount of Chappy decorations.
