Hello Ms. Finkelman, I would like to express my sincere thanks that you have taken time out of your schedule to work with me on my Vocational Rehabilitation Case. I’m aware that you made an exception to your busy schedule to even see me on Monday, 26 October, at 10:30 am. That is why I wanted to ensure that I express my thoughts to you in a written correspondence that you might reference in my absence. Requesting vocational rehabilitation services to attain a doctoral degree is not the normal; I know and fully understand that; however I would like VA to know by doing so they will be fulfilling a lifetime goal of a disabled Veteran. One of the vocational rehabilitation program goals is to help veteran train, or retrain to a new profession that will not aggravate their service connected disabilities, that is my plan, it just executed to a higher degree than most. Presently, educating myself in a new profession at the highest level is in my best interest. My VA disability claim was awarded on or about 1 August 2015, so the true concerns that I needed assistance in were really ignored until they were substantiated by the VA. While educating myself, focus will be on addressing medical concerns and necessary treatment before entering back into the workforce. The medical concerns that I am currently being seen for are as follows: Condition Treatment PTSD Group Therapy Session Right Knee Physical Therapy Sleep Apnea Sleep Doctor Bladder Control Occupational…

During the 1980’s, Stephen King wrote The Eyes of the Dragon for his little girl because she wasn’t exactly a fan of the books he normally wrote. While this past month has not been easy for me to keep up with my personal niyamas, it has definitely allowed me to gain a deeper insight into myself and learn some new things along the way. My first niyama I chose to focus on was purity. While everyone can always strive to eat better of exercise more, I wanted to do something personal and something I have been effected by for a long time. I have been biting my nails for longer than I can remember, and I know my nails are too short. I am…

I had a considerable day and night after we spoke. I immediately had a family meeting where some brutal honesty came into play for all of us. I heard everything you said, your concerns, and more so disappointment. I think that’s the part that hurt the most. In fact writing this saddens me. I do believe before I came to your home I was lost and still very much so learning. In all, from the moment I got the home my main objective was to keep this gem, raise Grace and not upset the process. That…

The ground was shaking. I stood still for a brief moment. It was a herd buffalo running towards a cliff. They were running through the field, as if it was away from someone. I took a second glance and saw that it was my people which the buffalo were running away from. Everyone that was in my band was chasing after the buffalo, including my daughter. Had I known that they were going on a hunt I would have gone with them. It was in that moment that I knew something didn’t feel right. In Alberta,…

The next day, I woke up slowly, not wanting to go to school. But hey I’m a teenager, and what teen wants to go to school? Oh yeah, people that actually have friends. And guess what! I don’t have any friends. I went to school as normal and went straight into my first period, AP Calc. Our class is very small, due to many kids not being smart enough to take the class. I was the first one here, which is becoming very normal. But soon after, a tall male walked into the classroom and started…

Throughout my life I’ve known plenty of people, and quite a few of them ended up being rather toxic. This particular debacle began over vacation on the cusp of autumn. My sister and two of our friends were together on a trip to Newport, Rhode Island, and on the two hour car ride there, one friend, I’ll call her A (I don’t want to use any names), threatened to reveal a long-time secret kept between her and another of my friends who was also my boyfriend, J, which had the codename of “Muskrat.”…

Being involved in the community will change ones life. It was my senior year in high school until I realized what happens when one gets involved in their community. Being involved in the Miracle League not only helped the kids, it helped me as a person. I still remember the first time I went to the Miracle League. It was a tradition of my baseball team to go to the Miracle League once a year. I was nervous, and did not know what to expect. It was a steaming hot…
