A treaty between Germany and the Allied countries; Britain, Russia, Italy and the US was signed on the 28th of June, 1919 in Versailles France. This is known as the Treaty of Versailles. |

Flapper wore short dresses (just under the knees) smoked cigarettes and drank in public. They were controversial as they were said to be showing too much skin at the ankles and arms, and going to mens beaches. |

The league of nations is was a early attempt of a International peace keeping society, much like the modern united nations. the main aim of the league is to prevent international hostilities. |

Why does the league of nations had little to no power? |
Any threat is only declared a matter of concern and the league could only threaten military action against an aggressor, but had no military of their own. |

The assembly line was introduced by Henry Ford in 1913. Assembly lines made production cheaper, which intern made goods more affordable, so more people brought the product. As more products were being sold, more jobs were being created so more people could afford these mass produced products. |

The mood of the 1920s was expressed in music, fashion and entertainment. Jazz became popular around the world and the charleston was performed in many dance halls. Even though the USA banned people from making and selling alcohol, people still parked in illegal bars called speakeasies. |

Many people were inspired by the Example of the Russian revolution. |

Because many of them suffered from poverty and discrimination, they also had problems readjusting to peace after the war. |

The Great Depression was a time of economic crisis, caused partly by the crash of the New York stock exchange in October 19289, Companies producing more goods then they can sell, and Investors buying shares with borrowed money. |

Australia was affected by the great depression due to Australia owing large amounts of interest to overseas lenders |

How did governments deal with the great depression? |
To deal with the great depression governments spent less, this resulted in many people loosing their jobs, making people spent less, putting less money in the economy, worsening the problem. |

the worst affected during the great depression were the workers. First governments relied on charities to provide work but could not deal with the vast majority of the poverty. Unemployed workers were further humiliated by having to queue for dole or sustenance payments. |

They were brought highly on trains, when they got there they were sorted into those who were fit to work, and those who were not. |

those who were fit enough to work, were worked to death, with hunger, and disease common. They were to hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. these people included fit men and woman, as well as older children (9-10+) |

Those who were not fit enough to work included small children, babies, the elderly and the disabled. these people were stripped naked and sent to the gas chambers straight away. |
