In Hinduism, the river Ganga is considered sacred and is personified as a goddess Gaṅgā. It is worshipped by Hindus who believe that bathing in the river causes the remission of sins and facilitates Moksha

Why are cows sacred to Hindu's? |
- Lord Krishna was a cowherd and the bull is depicted as the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Today the cow has almost become a symbol of Hinduism - In India the cow is believed to be a symbol of earth because it gives so much yet asks nothing in return -Bhisma also observes that the cow acts as a surrogate mother by providing milk to human beings for the whole life |
