Who is Tupac Amaru II

Louis XVI
King of France whose inability to adequately reform the French fiscal system laid the foundation for the French Revolution. After showing reluctance to rule as a constitutional monarch, Louis was arrested and beheaded by republican revolutionaries.
Third Estate
Before the Revolution, the order in French society that included most common people (the First Estate was aristocracy, the Second clergy, and the Third everyone else). Leaders of the Third Estate declared themselves a National Assembly in 1789, launching the French Revolution
National Assembly
Revolutionary assembly formed by members of the Third Estate after the failure of the Estates-General. They agreed on the "Declaration of the Right of Man and the Citizen, " forcing the king to sign the assembly's constitution
Jacobins
Radical republican faction in the French Revolution. They organized a military force that save the republic, but their leader Maxmilien, head of Committe of Public Safety, ruled by decree and set in motion The Reign of Terror.
Napoleon Bonaparte
Military commander who gain control of France after the French Revolution. Declared himself emperor in 1804 and attempted to expand French territory, but failed to defeat Great Britain and abdicated in 1814. Died in exile after a brief return to power in 1815.
Toussaint L'Ouverture
Leader of the Haitian Revolution. Under his military and political leadership, Haiti gained independence and abolished slavery, becoming the first black-ruled republic in the Americas. He died in exile in France.
Congress of Angostura
Congress that declared Venezuelan independence after Simon Bolivar gave an opening address arguing for a strong central government with effective executive powers.
Miguel de Hidalgo y Costilla
Mexican priest who launched the first stage of mexican war for independence. Hidalgo appealed to Indians and mestizos and was thus viewed with suspicion by Mexican criollos. In 1811, he was captured and executed. The Spanish publicity displayed his severed and mutilated head in Guanajuato as a warning to other rebels.

Articles of Confederation
first law of the United States. (States were responsible for debts remaining from the war, and they used taxes to meet those obligations (these taxes made many farmers give up there land--> they cant vote)

Forcefully made by King Louis XVI. Each of the three orders of French Society would send representatives. Catholic Church, Nobility, Everyone Else(Third Estate)

Statement in which Women of the National Assembly declared equality with men. Though women were important to the Revolution, men ignored these appeals.
