He was born in Firenze (Florence), the government thought themselves a republic but were a merchant oligarchy, they made laws to help themselves flourish, Dante believed that the Roman Catholic Church shouldn't interfere with government, so he did two sit-ins and got kicked out of Firenze. His father then disowned him, he went to Ravenna, started tutoring, and then writing.

Why did the Pazzi Conspiracy occur?

The Pazzi family realized that the central power of Florence was the Medici family, so, as a rival bank, they had to stain the Medici brothers' reputations, so that they could then kill them with no problem or suspicion.

How did the Pazzi Conspiracy occur?

Rumors of incest were spread to ruin their reputation, and at Santa Maria del Fiore on April 26th, with 7 assassins in the cathedral and using Cardinal Riario as bait to get the Medici brothers there. Giuliano was sick and remained home, but Lorenzo was there. A priest and a step-brother of the Medici's went to go get Giuliano. Another priest did not follow the plan and attacked Lorenzo too early, he was injured but Lorenzo killed the priest. Upon seeing this, in the doorway of the chapel Giuliano was stabbed over 30 times. Later Lorenzo called for revenge, and in the following months over 400 "conspirators" were killed.

One day they were laughing and someone made a joke about the pope, people laughed, but Bartolomeo started laughing later and harder than everyone else. Someone said,"What are you laughing at Jew boy?" He said he laughed at the pope, and called the people of Florence the farts of Satan, they freaked out, so one of his friends mistakenly told the guards that Bartolomeo was the Jewish vandal, even though he couldn't possibly be. In his anger he admitted to this, so the guards tortured him, at the Bargello, into admitting to 4 acts of vandalism. He was taken to the places, his hands and then eyes were gonna be cut out, but the crowd tore him apart in anger.
