What does 1 unit of alcohol equate to |
1. Half pint of beer, lager or cider 2. Glass of wine 3. Single measure of spirit 4. Glass of sherry 5. Glass of aperitif 6. Bottle of Alcopop NB. Normal strength 3 - 3.5% but premium beers are very often 5 - 6% so double the units |

What is the alcohol and drugs policy |
1. Do not attempt to report for duty whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol 2. You must not drink alcohol or take drugs of abuse when on duty 3. You must not have any drug of abuse with you whilst on duty 4. If you are charged by police for a drink or drug related offence, you must tell your manager/supervisor immediately 5. If you have a drink or drug related problem, you must report it immediately |

1. For Cause-After being involved in a safety of the line incident 2. Behavioural-There is a reason to believe someone is under the influence of drink or drugs 3. Random-If selected at random for screening 4. When starting on the railway or during a transfer or promotion |

DRM Driver Resource Manager/TCRC as soon as possible before your next turn of duty, giving the details of the drug. If this is done just before signing on, the DRM/TCRC will not allow you to undertake any safety critical work until they know the results. |
