1. have the estimate ready before the client arrives so that you are not rushed and are more likely to have an accurate estimate 2. have 2 or 3 estimates ready if there are alternative solutions priced differently 3. try to ensure that the language on the estimate is not too "technical" 4. ensure that the form is clear and concise
