Chi-Square Analysis

The white -spotted jumping spider can have two colors of abdominal spots: White( homozygous dominant: AA) or orange (homozygous recessive: aa). A flooding even went through a population of white-spotted jumping spiders and killed most of the individuals. The next summer, an ecologist noticed that most of the spiders had white spots. TO determined if the spider population had evolved, the ecologist performed a chi-square analysis. Her calculated chi-square value was 1.54 (X^2= 1.54).

Based on the information above, be able to answer questions similar to the ones below:Using the chi-square table, determine if you would accept or reject the hypothesis. (Hypothesis: The population is under Hardy-Weinburg equilibrium). Show your work.Has this population evolved? If yes, what evolutionary mechanism is responsible.
