Cox pulled emergency fuel stop, account for all personelle Eng secure all non-essential electrical power On cox order, eng energizes fm-200 contact unit, crew rig for anchor if directed, cox discuss relocation of p-6 pump, establish re-flash watch coordinate with station for tow or other assistance |
Loss of Steering
bring joystick to zero thrust,
change steering station, verify current position, contact unit check camera to ensure engine space safe to enter check steering hydraulic system for proper operation and verified hydraulic oil sump for quantity Secured both engines when the hydraulic tank low level alarm display panel sounded, crewmember rigs for anchor if directed by cox, If the cause was not correctable and steering hydraulic pressure was normal, steering can be controlled manually by using the steering proportional valves on the manifold in extreme emergency situations only. |
Collision With Submerged Object
Reduced RPM to neutral on both engines (when in safe waters and out of surf zone).
notify crew of casualty, determine what was hit and if it can still be seen. engineer checks engine room, aux space and lazarette for obvious flooding damage, engineer checks for proper cooling water circulation or debris in raw water strainers, crew checks foreward compartments for flooding/obv damage cox conducts steering checks cox checks rpm in neutral and engaged checking for vibration/flooding Coxswain maintained engine RPM below range of vibration, if necessary. If vibration is too severe, secured engine. cox notify station. |
Loss of Main Engine Lube Oil Pressure
Reduced RPM to clutch ahead on both engines.
Identified affected engine, notify crew, secure affected engine, Verified current position, evaluated situation, and contacted station Crew members rigged the anchor for emergency. use if directed Engineer, checked engine room with the CCTV System. Engineer entered engine room with crew member standing by with fire extinguisher as safety observer Checked bilge area for lube oil. Checked entire lube oil system for leaks Checked engine oil sump for quantity andquality Checked the coolant recovery tank for contamination. notify unit, if cause not determined, do not start affected engine, return to station on one engine |
