Gamete
Haploid sex cell; an oocyte or a sperm that joins during fertilization to form a zygote.
Gametogenesis
The formation of gametes (sex cells) in animals.
Spermatogenesis
The production of sperm by the process of meiosis and maturation.
Oogenesis
Production of oocytes (eggs) in females by the process of meiosis and maturation.
Diploid & Haploid
A diploid (2n) nucleus contains the full number of chromosomes/twice as many as a haploid (n)
Primary Follicle
Contains an oocyte (egg) and begins producing the sex hormone estrogen.
Secondary Follicle
