NG tube to DJ-junction, thin barium w/methylcellulose under fluoro (double-contrast), ultra-sensitive small bowel. Can use CT. Undersirable to pts.

Contrast Enema
|
Masses, strictures, obstruction, inflammatory disease. Barium or gastrograffin. C/I: free air (perforation) - use gastrograffin. Need bowel prep.

Defecogram
|
Barium paste, fluoro of defecation - anorectal angle, pelvic floor descent, rectocele/intussusception.

Cystogram
|
Adult - contour of bladder, check for leaks in s/p surgery/trauma or surgical planning.

Voiding Cystogram (VCUG)
|
Children w/recurrent UTIs. Assess vesicoureteral reflux.

Males only for major pelvic trauma or strictures. Fluoro, but CT if extravasation.

Cervical os to fill uterus+fallopian tubes and spill into cavity. Eval congenital malformations, scar tissue, blockage, hydrosalpinx. Do few days post-menses.

Surgical hardware placement, reduction of fractures/joint setting.

Arthrography
|
Contrast into joint, then fluoro. Can be w/MRI (xray contrast plus gadolinium). Shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip.
